    Default Gregorian chant, anyone?

Mga higala, nangita ko'g Roman Catholic volunteers nga ganahan moapil og choir nga exclusively Gregorian chants ang kantahon.

    No singing experience required.

No prior knowledge of Gregorian chant required either.

The only requirements are commitment and the sincere desire to serve the Catholic Church. Rehearsals are done twice weekly (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays). Each session lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours.

We rehearse in an accessible parish in the uptown area of Cebu City.

For now, the group has no affiliation with any specific parish. Singing engagements are by invitation only for now.

If you are a Roman Catholic, and you don't know what Gregorian chant is, take a look at this "FAQ about Gregorian Chant" published by the National Association of Pastoral Musicians.

Here are samples of our live recordings at one of our rehearsals:

Introitus (Entrance Chant) "Salve sancta parens"

Offertorium (Offertory Chant) "Felix namque es"

    Communio (Communion Chant) "Beata viscera"

@miramax -- Singing group man na imong pasabot. Ang ilang complete name is "Gregorian, Masters of Chant." And, no, what they're singing is NOT Gregorian chant. Ang ilang manner of singing hinuon is mora-mora og Gregorian chant, but it is definitely not Gregorian chant.

Since it's Lent, you'll want to sing the designated Mass Ordinary chants for this season. For Sundays, it's Kyriale XVII (also called Mass XVII). For weekdays, it's Kyriale XVIII (or Mass XVIII).

Don't forget the Sung Mass Propers, too. They can be found in the Graduale Romanum or the Liber Usualis.
