I totally agree, a lot of variable plays into car durability and QUALITY is one of them.

Yung pride has 230k odo (daily driven for 17years in manila traffic, now used for short trips to the mall) while the corolla is just slightly over 300k. Any well maintained car na daily driven will start showing issues even before 300k odo lalo na in our weather, stop-go traffic and road conditions. Guess IMO and experience - wala sa brand yan, big percentage that contributes to a car's durability is how the owner takes care and uses his/her ride.

di man gyud siguro basta2x maguba ang sakyanan (korean or otherwise) basta with proper usage and maintenance lang...

kung naay ma atlan magub-an dayon labi nag major2x, aw ibutang nalang nato nga malas... kung within warranty, then good... otherwise, malas lang gyud siguro, hehehe...

Kia Rio 2013 sa akong igsoon sa province, 100k kapin na mileage bago ra nag 3 years... puryabuyag so far wala pa may major repairs, usual PMS lang og kapila ng ilis sa ligid, hehehe... i'll give it another 2 more years, kung wala pay major repairs gihapon (like engine or transmission), then Kia could just have earned a spot on my list of fave cars...

on the other hand, Ford Fiesta sa akong barkada, 3 years kapin ra gyud bago ra human warranty, guba ang transmission... and Ford didn't even bother helping him na despite bago ra gyud ni lapse ang warranty...

Koreano ako sili.ngan iya ride is Toyota....Korean cars dali ra kuno ma.guba ingon nya. Barato lang.
Even Koreans seldom buy 'korea made" cars. They know better.....

Daghan Koreans cars na wala pai 300k ang odo gi pang ilisan na ug mga pyesa. Na.a pai na bali ang 'piston rod" wala pa gani ka.abot ug 250k, hasta na lang gyud.
300k odo for Korean cars without issues is VERY rare unlike Japanese cars. Even US cars cannot compete with Japanese cars. Ask any americans, they will give you their unbiased opinions.

Sa.una ako mga 'mekaniks' tools kai 'China, Korea, Taiwan" made kai barato ra man sila pero nga bali nya ang sockets set nag crack. Humok ka.ayo ilang 'forged" steel. Ang Japanese/US/german tools nako dili gyud ma bali (medyo mahal lang) maski unsa.on nako torque. Ma strip na lang ang mga bolts pero and tools dili gyud. Nindot gyud ang 'forged' quality sa japan/us/german made. Lahi ra gyud ang 'steel' quality....
