In your place, I would consider a more modern option, which is not just a hard disk, but really a backup. I have been using https://lostdongle.com/devices/emulator-matrix/ for a long time, which easily synchronizes with any operating system. The most important plus is ease of use and even a user like you (you wrote that you have poor knowledge of the technical field))) can easily find a common language with this device.
