Ong-Bak had all the makings of becoming the drama that launched "The Big Boss" franchises and Bruce Lee.

Except that director Prachya Pinkaew overdid in trying to prove that muaythai fights in Ong-Bak were for real --- no CGI, no Corey Yuen wires --- and filmed the fight routine with at least three cameras and repeated the cuts in close succession like an NBA playoff.

But, then, contrary to Pinkaew's effort, how can the reality of muaythai be made convincing enough in a film whose fights depended much on stunts and fight choreographers?

Ong-Bak is produced by Baa-Ram-Ewe pictures. Sounds like a lot of goats here.

I have to admit the story is a bit lacking.

But who cares, I was in it for the battle sequences and they rocked!!!!

yeah.. the plot isnt really that good. but the fight sequences rock!!! the chase scene was also fun! and that muay girl is really cute. anybody knows who she is??
