The Search is on for the number 1 Freestyle MC in Cebu. Do you have the lyrics, flow and skills to be crowned Scorch the Mic Champion and take home the P20,000 Championship Cash Prize
Round 1 – Friday September 16th, 2005 – P5,000 Cash Prize
Round 2 – Friday September 23rd, 2005 – P5,000 Cash Prize
Championship Round – Saturday October 1st, 2005 – P20,000 Cash Prize
All going down at the Village Courtyard!
Registration is completely free and open to all Hip Hop MCs. There will be a screening process and we are looking for the first 16 qualified MCs for Round 1 & Round 2. Screening and Registration will be taking place at 12 Noon on September 16th and September 23rd at the Village Courtyard. First Come First Serve so don’t be late!
The Freestyle Battles will consist of restrictions and time limits, which regulate but allow MCs to profile their lyrical skills and creativity. The Judging panel will consist of Hip-Hop icons in the community as well as music industry personnel.
In Round 1 & 2 the battles will be broken down into 4 segments. Each segment will be Knock-Out Elimination Format with MCs judged according to lyrical content, continuity, flow and crowd reaction. The first segment consists of 16 MCs - each MC has 45 seconds to create freestyle rhymes and prose that outwit the other and move them on to the next segment. The second segment will consist of 8 MCs and the third 4 MCs. The Final Segment will pit the 2 remaining MCs against one another, where each will be given one-minute to freestyle. They all battle for the Round Cash Prize of P5,000 and bragging rights. The Winner of Round 1 will be withheld from entering Round 2 as to give chance for other MCs to claim the Round 2 Cash Prize and to move on to the Championship Round.
The Top 4 MCs from Round 1 & Round 2 will move on to the Championship Round!
