basing it on the performance of the mavericks, nash might win his third straight MVP award and dirk might end up heartbroken.
baron davis showed brilliance lately but its not enough for him to win the MVP

I'd just like to point out the fact that NBA MVP ballots were due in the day after the regular season ended, so the playoffs do not figure into the voting.
Not that I agree with it, that's just the way it is. The Mavs finished with the best regular season record followed by the Suns, so Dirk and Nash will get alot of consideration. B. Davis probably won't even finish in the top 15 in the voting (missing 20 games this season didn't help his cause).
There is always the "NBA Finals MVP" which I would cherish more because that would mean that my team has most likely won the NBA Championship to go along with the award (Jerry West was the only "NBA Finals MVP" to play for the losing team... Lakers 1969). Now if someone wins both awards in the same year (MVP and Finals MVP) then that is the ultimate (Jordan I believe did that 4 times in his career).

Why was there no "Warriors Fans" thread until yesterday? Maybe the thread should've been titled "Mav's Haters" or "Warriors Bandwagon Jumpers".... heheh.
Enjoy the playoffs everyone, it's a different season... that's for sure. One bad week and you're history until next year.

i know that the MVP is based on the performance for the whole season and the playoffs is not a part of it. but considering dirk and the mav's dismal performance against the warriors, im having second thoughts of him, not unless they could pull the remaining 3 games out.
