From my Father, concerning on sons and daughters bearing grandchildren:

"When a Son starts to have a family, its somewhat 50-50 that you're sure your son's kids are your grandkids~ At least with a Daughter who has children you're sure a 100% No doubts that they're your grandchildren."

Anyway, my father told me:
"Maski unsang chismis inyung madungong, ang tan-awa ang akong nabuhat sa inyung mag-igsoon. I've given you a great life."

Lesson learned, whatever rumor that goes out, ignore them and just do you best.

What I believe and constantly practice:

Never let a day pass without letting a family member know how much he or she is appreciated or valuable in one's life.

There is no greater affirmation of being or token of esteem/appreciation other than that which comes from one's own flesh and blood.
