i was talking to a religious person asking me what is the purpose of doing good if you don't believe in a higher power.

i understand that we as humans needs a purpose, or motivation to do something. but what is the purpose of our purpose? maybe im just being nihilistic here and stuff but as far as i've observe, the purpose of my purpose is just because "i want to" no real reason no real motivation or no real 'reward' in the end.
