    yep that's true..

Fact: do you know that the best carvers in the philippines can be found in Lapu-lapu city cebu? I've known people who owns a furniture business in manila and in Mindanao.. and they are saying na if mag pa subcon sila ug carving.. ila gyud ipadala sa cebu para lang ipa carv ang ilang item.. but until such time nga na mahalan sila ug padala.. nag hire nalang sila ug carvers from cebu para didto manila..

tophat nag work ka sa usa ka furniture company?

but you also have carving tools right? I am sure you have these tools too.

as much as possible sharpen it very well.. if you don't use your tools make sure you oil your tools to prevent rust..

rule of a thumb.. do not use oil like DW-40 it has silicon on it.. so best way is use any oil without silicon..

if you ask why.. you might have a problem if basa pa then g gamitn imo pang carving.. mag ka problema ka sa finish sa wood.. oil will penetrate sa wood then ang finish chemicals nimo dili na maka sulod sa pores sa imong wood..

thanks, Yes it's true.. but Tophat has a point.. CNC won't exist if carvers were not discovered. as a matter of fact we in cebu has the best carvers in the Philippines.

we are in the 21st century.. in small project yes we can use carving tools, chisels, and other more...

but in production line or mas producing furnitures.. most of them invest on CNCs just to accelerate their production..

there is no right and wrong on your answers... they have a certain reason why they use various ways of processing inlays. It's just where they are comfortable using it...
