i think theres no reason to laugh, in fact we should help the hobbyist move on and not laugh at him, mura man nuun ikaw ang nangilad ky ikaw may nag una una ug katawa, and theirs no proof nga newbie to ang nangilad, unless if you know the person or the actor or what so ever..

i know a similar story and in this story, the so called hobbyist is nothing more than a businessminded man who takes advantage of newbies. and one time, one newbie knew of his scheme, and he wasnt welcomed anymore. and up to now, this so called hobbyist still asks for his 1000 from that newbie.

example situation:

Hobbyist: "i have a friend who has a T."
Newbie: "how much does he sell it?"
Hobbyist: "2.5T, that's really cheap already. bla bla bla" (but the truth is that its only 1.5K) ------> (but its fine coz business is business, right?)
..but suddenly, the newbie was able to contact the seller, and gets it for 1.5k
...and so, the story begins...

again, i dont know if its this same story mr.anjo is talking about. but if it involves a huahini tarantula, most likely this is it.
