my reply might not matter since i haven't had tonsillectomy. ever. pero curios lang ko.. ikaw dyud mismo ang naay plano nga magpakuha'g tonsils? sa imo tan-aw, kinahanglan dyud? unsa man diay imo gibati.. pirme gasakit? i think you should go ask your doctor what needs to be done. but if i were you, and my doctor had advised me to have them taken out, i would say no. i probably would just take antibiotics and see if they'd work. kuan man gud, importante ang atong tonsils kay motabang man gud na ug fight ug infection, so as much as possible you shouldn't take them out... because who knows what can happen later.. what if you contract a serious infection but then your tonsils are no longer there to help fight it off? mas maayo dyud nga intact pa sila para naa pa kay first-line of defense sa imong immune system. good luck nalang. i hope you feel better.

My mom had to have her tonsils removed around 23 years ago. (yikes! im so old! lol) That was the advice to her kc every so often sige na lang sya tonsillitis and the doc said that the infection there if not checked might go down to her heart and that will do even more damage.

She went in and went out in 3 days if I remember correctly. It was done by a doctor in Manila and the hospital? I forgot na hehehehehe. Right now...she cant take anymore 1st line antibiotics...if she gets sick...it is almost always the stronger ones. Very expensive ra ba jud. The key is to PREVENT her from getting sick.

Why do u need to have them taken out? Ask for second opinion siguro before you have them taken out. Yun lang....

Salamat! Why do I need to have them taken out just bcoz of tonsil infection more often and have tonsil stone too. I already had some lists of hospital's cost and expenses. I'm just waiting for my vacation's schedule this year. Mao ning kutob sa mahimo I need advices and opinions thru this site about patient's experiences, best hospitals and well experience doctors specialist in tonsillectomy. Bahala mahal basta safe lang jud. Talawan man gud ko. hehehe!

removal of tonsils is a simpe enough procedure.
kauli ra ka in 2-3 days.
you'll only need to take antibiotics and pain reliever kung naa pain (this is not a very painful experience sad)
just make sure na maayo imo surgeon.

if you want a private hospital na cheap pero maayo, you can go to VCMC but dili cya ing-ana ka nindot sa cebu doctors or chong hua when it comes to the building.
