Default Short Courses & Steps to Take to Work / Migrate Abroad

*First of all, if there's a similar [ACTIVE] thread already please merge it with this one or maybe close this and please PM me the link because I wasn't able to find a thread that's similar to this. Thanks!

What short courses can one take to be be a stepping stone for a job abroad? I know there's TESDA but after taking the short course? What's next? What would be the steps that he/she would take in order to acquire a job abroad? Hopefully in Canada, New Zealand, Australia or elsewhere. Because we don't want to waste time taking up the course and then there's just nowhere to go after the course.

So, kinsa naay experience here nga nag short course sa TESDA then naka abroad? Any tips? Steps? What can you share? Please help so that we can be guided. We're planning to migrate abroad man gud, nurse man ko so okay ra familiar na ko sa steps na itake for nurses, like IELTS and work experience - etc. But what about sa dili nurses? Thanks! Even agency suggestions. Okay ra pd but ingon sila mas maayo di mag agency. So share niya guys. THANKS!

Since I have nothing to do I'll give a hint.

Ask agencies because whether we like it or not, there will be no such thing as 'direct hire' anymore and expect that to continue until our lifetime or until Philippines will step up regarding education/competencies. And if there is such a case, agencies will condescendingly enter your contract.

To alleviate this problem, one must have a substantial amount of money. Another is the bridging program and others but that is not a guarantee and definitely not for free. Another is, if you have a relative specially 1st civil degree/immediate family that is already holding a citizenship, beg/ask for a sponsorship-slash-petition. And the ultimate solution would be, marry a local.

This is not to discourage kay gikan nami ana and realized with my skills and competency, the salary offered was not as high as one can expect and that was years ago. US is in concurrency strongly enforced lately by CA BON. Canada, Aus, NZ, UK as per relatives, slashed out healthcare laborers in the skilled migrant category EXCEPT for Medical Doctors and the like.

That's all for now... but we never know. Try lang gihapon.

PS: this is only for the Countries mentioned above. I dont know about the fellow Asian countries and the middle east.

    Add ko gamay....

Humot ta on hostpitality-retail-services (f&b, casino, hotels, caregivers, etc) and teaching (english).
So take og any short-courses related to above even if layo sa imong educational field.
Kung related sa imong na-eskwelahan, good for you.
Then try to find work in the nearest 1st world country first (1.w.c.) like Jpn, Sgp, Mac, etc.
Work there for about 2 to 5 years and jump to your targeted countries dayon.

If imo jud gusto nga moadto sa EU or US, dawat og work in the 1.w.c. bisan dili pa related sa imo field ang position. Syempre, if related field, mas maayo.

Mga nindot nga true to life examples:

-- Ang helper sa ako Boss sa una, she is a licensed Pharmacist. Nag-helper siya in SG with the ultimate goal of going to UK (or was it CAN? ). Tua na siya ngadto karon.

-- Kauban nako sa balay sa una... ni-apply for NZ resident visa man guro to.
    Last Oct.2015 sila ni-apply online. Gi-interview pag-Dec.2015 via skype. Gi-approved pag Jan.2016.
    Whole family sila - hubby-wife-son.

-- Friend and housemate sa ako Sister. Working in Sg for a few years lang. Ni-apply for CAN. Tua na didto karon, nag-work as pump-girl and in a fast food chain pod. Taod-taod na pod siya didto.

All of the above did their direct-DIY applications through the respective embassies located in SG and online pod.
If sa ato mag-gikan, moagi jud og agency. But coming from 1.w.c.'s, DIY ra. less kaayo ang gasto.

    Swerte-swerte ra jud.

Ang ako gusto i-add is : learn one more language or two.
Be it French, Chinese, Japanese, German, etc... basta +1 or more languages.
    Para nako, makatabang jud ni.

    Goodluck.

    kayasa big time ui...

Kat.on kog japanese ug chinese saona para pahumot... in the end, dili ko katigum sa offer via agency. gamay ra difference mao di nako kaya biyaan pamilya for that small amount lng, ok unta to kung 6 figures hehe.

Nag suway mi NZ, in fact gikan ddto ako misis ni pauli kay it's either magpadayun cya as nurse sa usa ka polyclinic or adto ug rural (both are minimum wages mas ubos pa sa rural) kay di na man modawat ang Auckland ato nga time... I think saturated na kaayo and she saw lots of Malaysians and Indians.

May gani nilahutay ang nego-nego kay wa pa, nangamote na unta ko ron hehe

    Not sure though lang ha...

I am a TESDA grad of PLC programming, I also graduated with vocational course (auto mechanics), I also speak 4 languages (not too fluent, but understandable), and I am M.E.

Not all of these helped me to migrate/work abroad...murag depende na sa imong work experience ug education tingale.

I would suggest tanawa usa unsa imong strong points ug unsa ang in demand nga skills sa isa ka country nga imong applyan.
Dayun, dinha naka mo focus like, skills enhancement ana nga field (skwela ug TESDA, or other schools), nya learn the language ana nga country kung dili English ang main nila nga language.

I talked to some nurses here in Norway, they said nga ni skwela usa sila ug language for several hours before naka anhi. Though, they are not credited as nurses here.

    by the way:

And then, add a little bit more to make yourself mas humot than the rest.

It's always better to have that skill when you dont need it, than to don't have it when you needed it the most. :b0w:
